Eccovi la versione in inglese:
Who is that guy?
Translation: Jerry Gray
You’ve certainly seen him in a sporting arena in Kumla or around Örebro, but who is he?
Giorgio Battaini, was born in 1982 and grew up in Ticino,
in the Italian region of Switzerland. A true floorball (unihockey) fantast, who chose to spend a year with the Kumla women’s team. He’s here to enjoy himself, but most of all to learn more about Swedish floorball and to develop himself as a coach and trainer.
Back home "Giorgietto" is the trainer for the women’s team in his own club Verbano Ragazzi, a Swiss club that Kumla collaborates with. During a training camp there last spring Giorgio hinted that he's always wanted to visit Sweden. And that he had been saving his money to one day fulfil his dream of experiencing Swedish floorball.
Last year the final puzzle pieces fell into place. Kumla Bostäder cooperated by letting out an apartment to him and in August he was here, with suitcase in hand, filled with many hopes and expectations.
So how was this past season?
“It was a wonderful season, one that I really liked! The only words I come up with is: THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This has really been a dream come true!” exclaimed Giorgio, but in Swedish. Yes, after only 7 months, he speaks Swedish! He’s truly ambitious in everything he does and is full of enthusiasm when it comes to floorball!
During the past season Giorgietto has been an extra resource, especially for Kumla’s division 3 team where he played a major roll in training sessions and by coaching during games. IFK Kumla would really like it if Giorgio could stay and continue his work next season. Even if his plane departs home on Tuesday, perhaps Giorgio’s Swedish floorball adventure hasn't ended yet; if he can find a job here, he too has expressed his strong desire to stay another season in Kumla.
